The Borough of Red Bank is celebrating its 100th birthday!
Two of the main events are a town-wide parade on Saturday, May 17 and a parade of boats on the Navesink River on Sunday, May 18.
The parade will begin at 11am from Globe Court and travel down Front Street, Broad Street, Monmouth Street, Bridge Avenue, Drs. James Parker Boulevard and Pearl Street before ending in Count Basie Field for a community picnic with all refreshments being generously donated by Foodtown of Red Bank.
The Boat Parade is still in the planning stages but is set to begin at 1:30 pm and will feature rowers, sail boats and power boats. There will be antique boats both in the parade and on display in Marine Park.
Look for special promotions by Red Bank restaurants during the week before and after the Centennial Celebration weekend. Also, watch for more events and promotions to be announced throughout the year.
All residents are encouraged to decorate their houses in red, white and blue for at least the celebration weekend if not the whole year. Flags, buntings, ribbons will help show your community spirit! The celebration is just two weeks before Memorial Day, which is followed by Flag Day and then the Fourth of July!
