The Count Basie Theatre, a 1926 historic theatre, is located in the heart of downtown Red Bank, New Jersey. Just minutes from the ocean, Red Bank is a beautiful and charming town built on the banks of the Navesink River. The Count Basie Theatre alone draws over 130,000 thousand people annually, in addition to the thousands who flock to Red Bank's annual film and music festivals. There are numerous art galleries, antique shops, retail stores, restaurants, and parks in this small hamlet on the Jersey Shore.
Two River Theatre
Two River Theater Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director John Dias, produces classics, contemporary plays and innovative education programs in a state-of-the-art theater complex that opened in 2005. Founded in 1994 by Joan and Dr. Robert M. Rechnitz, the company's first three seasons were produced on the campus of Monmouth University, where Dr. Rechnitz was a Professor of American Literature.
